I may be tired. I may be hungry. I may have to pee I may be tired. I may be hungry. I may have to pee.
But I will hold you to sleep. Feed you until you’re full. Change you when you cry.

When you look at me, I feel butterflies. The butterflies that used to be little kicks. When I hear you breathe, I flashback to your first ultrasound begging to see a heartbeat. When you smile, I imagine the room filling with rainbows and flowers because only they come close to embodying your beauty. You are sunshine.

I may let you down as we learn and grow together, but one thing is for sure, I will always love you. I will always do my best to understand you. I will give you my best even when it feels like my best isn’t enough some days.

You and your sisters and your angel siblings made me the woman I am today and for that, I am grateful. 🤍
This moment was EVERYTHING. 🤍 This moment was EVERYTHING. 🤍

Not a single health concern even though the doctor told me at 20 weeks that you likely wouldn’t even make it a few more weeks. We showed him ☺️
As most of you know, I had my second miscarriage r As most of you know, I had my second miscarriage right before I got pregnant with my son. So, when I started having intense cramping followed by blood pouring down my legs at 9.5 weeks pregnant, I truly believed I had lost him. Because the bleeding occurred at night, I decided to stay in bed, wear a pad, and basically just cry & pray through the night until I could see someone the next day.

I finally got an appointment at 10 am and sat in the waiting room assuming all of the words the midwife would use to comfort my loss.

I was called back into the office, I laid down on the table, and the midwife pulled out a fetal doppler and said “don’t be nervous if we cannot hear anything, you are still early enough to where we may need to send you for an ultrasound instead.”

So, I held my breath, she put gel on my abdomen, and I’m not even kidding…within 1 second of her putting the doppler on me, we heard a clear, strong heartbeat.

I instantly started crying. I was in disbelief. I was fully convinced that I had lost my baby and there was no chance we would hear a heartbeat.

Two weeks later, at exactly 11.5 weeks pregnant, I had cramping and bleeding again. I was instantly terrified again that my body was somehow failing my baby and that he wasn’t safe. We pulled out the doppler we had purchased for peace of mind to check on the baby. His heartbeat was still strong, and I was filled with relief.

These two circumstances, I believe, were preparing my heart for news that was to come in the weeks to follow. Teaching me to pray, have faith, and believe that my baby was a fighter.
